Marie Lemelle Consumer Alert: Investigating PR Firms With Multi

  • LOS ANGELES, CA — The Consumer Transparency Network (CTN), a grassroots watchdog initiative focused on consumer rights and ethical business practices, has raised serious questions about the business conduct of Marie Lemelle, a longtime Hollywood public relations executive and President of the California Black Chamber of Commerce – Beverly Hills.

Lemelle, widely known in entertainment and business circles for her PR firm and production ventures, is now linked to an investigation involving online review Marie Lemelle Ethics Scandal, disputed client experiences, and jurisdictional concerns tied to her multiple Colorado-registered companies.

    Allegations of Review Manipulation

Industry insiders and consumer watchdogs point to a troubling pattern: at least one paying client who raised concerns about deliverables had their critical Yelp review removed following pushback from Lemelle. In August 2025, Lemelle herself took to LinkedIn, claiming Yelp enables “false reviews” and “cyberbullying.” CTN notes this type of response is inconsistent with the standards of accountability expected from leaders of respected organizations and undermines the transparency consumers rely on from platforms like Yelp.

    Alias Activity on LinkedIn

The watchdog review also found evidence that Lemelle has reportedly used the alias “F. Baldiwala” on LinkedIn, where she allegedly disparaged a documented case involving a client while simultaneously promoting her own business services. Experts say this type of online activity raises red flags for talent, agents, and managers navigating a notoriously competitive Hollywood marketplace.

    Corporate Jurisdiction Red Flags

While her companies are branded with Hollywood prestige — including a talent agency, production company, nonprofit, and PR firms — public filings show all are registered under Colorado jurisdiction, despite operations being run out of a Glendale, California residence. Local regulations prohibit commercial activity at this address, further compounding compliance questions.

    Legal History Raises Consumer Risk

Public court records reveal Lemelle has been connected to more than 18 legal filings in Los Angeles County, most tied to contract disputes or client disagreements. In one documented case, a client alleged they paid thousands of dollars to multiple Lemelle-affiliated entities but received minimal deliverables. CTN warns this type of track record poses clear risks to consumers — particularly entertainers and small businesses seeking legitimate representation.

Why It Matters for Hollywood and Beyond

The implications ripple beyond Los Angeles. Lemelle’s roles as Global Goodwill Ambassador and self-styled Global Media Director extend her influence internationally, including ties to Africa. Watchdogs argue that business leaders with international profiles must uphold the highest standards of transparency, governance, and ethical conduct to avoid reputational damage to the institutions and communities they represent.

“Consumers deserve honest representation — not manipulated reviews or undisclosed conflicts,” said a spokesperson for CTN. “Transparency protects everyone, from aspiring entertainers to global communities.”
