It's definitely the rage in modern weddings to nix tradition, and we are so, so in favour of making your day exactly what you want it to be. Chuck out the rule book and start again! Have every #trending wedding decoration under the sun, or none. Cut anything you think is tacky, or do them all — including chucking the garter to your groom's mates, as one of our experts suggested.
A wedding can be anything you want it to be, however, as people have been getting hitched for quite some time now, a lot of traditions are there for a reason. Even if it's only a sentimental one — let's face it, other than signing the legal documentation, the weddings are all sentiment.
